It was a little bit of a late start, but God wasn't late. He was right on time, and apparently, we were too. We got into our vans right around 10 am Friday morning to embark on our journey. With 10 in one and 12 in another, we started out. Our first "stop" was Arlington, Oregon, for some lunch and a little bit of a rest. We had wonderful sandwiches (thank you Tammy!) and just enjoyed the day. I could already tell that God was working, that our prayers were being answered. It was a great drive with no hick-ups or anything.

We got to Spokane around 4 or 5, welcomed at Fairwood Community Church by a key and a cooler place to stay than in the 100+ temperatures outside. We hung out, had some dinner and then broke into group time. Zack and Shawn led us in worship, ushering us into a week where we would learn a little more on how we are supposed to worship. We had small group time after this, and God was showing His faithfulness. What was going to be a headache of dividing the groups while being careful not to put this person with that person and that person next to that other person turned into an example of how faithful God can truly be. He picked the groups, and He couldn't have made them more perfect.
We spent the next day driving to Fort Shaw. Cody's house was fun, the Yacolt youth group and Fort Shaw youth group were great bunches, and Church the next day was great! A great sermon by Pastor Nathan.

The cultural experience was fun. It was great watching all of the students trying to dance like the Native American children, while everyone failed (good efforts by Tammy B. and Shawn!). It was also great to see Katie and a couple others hop on the drum later.

There was plenty of time to meet God on this trip. We had devotional time, we had Club time and we had Church group time (though a little more wouldn't have been too bad). He was faithful in talking to us in so many ways and so many different times.

The kids in Kids Club opened our eyes to a group that just wanted to feel the loving touch of another person. Many of these kids just wanted a piggy back ride, I'm sure our students were more than willing to be adored.

The painting was fun, though we question how much the buildings were painted as opposed to each other.

The week in Heart Butte ended with a very sombering foot washing ceremony. It was a time where God broke most of us. He showed some that "I can't go and wash the feet of others if God doesn't wash my feet first." He showed most that "I don't deserve this." He showed all of us that we need to be His servants.
It was an awesome week, God showed Himself faithful to everyone. He was very faithful to me, showing me how much service is required for leadership. Showing that celebrating the steps is as important as reaching the bar. Showing that I do not even deserve to claim any leadership, responsibility or even the call of ministry. Only by His stripes am I healed.
GOD ROCKS!

Wow! How amazing God is! What an awesome experience to watch him work in your own life and the lives of all the youth group! Glad to hear that HE answered prayers and that the trip was so great!
HEY nice job wirting it all out. and god was right on time. even though a few of us didn't notice him until later on during the party. and we did to get the paint on the houses. and by the way that was one of my favorite things to do on the trip was the painting. man was that fun stuff. well thanks to god he made that trip amazing for almost all of us. and i thank god for zack's prayer. i'm so glad that god broke us all apart and showed us what he wanted us to see. i know i learned a million of things baout myself. and thank you so much matt.prior for setting such a good example to us. it was amazing that just yesterday i was able to follow your example by the fact that after i messed up i was able to come to the people i messed up with and ask for them to forgive me for what i had done. thank you again. FOR EVERYTHING!!!
