March 28th

Today's hard lesson involves Kate's bookshelf and my toe. They don't go well together when moving the foot at the high velocity typical with taking a normal step and the shelf jumps out to attack. It is officially broken (by a self diagnosis pertaining to the swelling) and the tip is hanging on by a piece of flesh. Therefore, my hard lesson is this: don't leave bookshelves in the middle of the dining alcove.

You ever see on the news a terrible accident, and just feel bad for whoever is involved? Today that horrible accident on the news involved the head of Becky's department at Pacific. Her name is Jan and she is one of the greatest ladies a person could ever meet. They amputated her left arm up to the shoulder, and today she had surgery from two broken legs...
Pray for her (and her parents as her mom broke her hip and wrist and her dad broke some ribs, both went into surgery as well, and her brother who's only family he has were all in the car), you never expect to know the person involved in the horrible accident, today we did. That's today's other hard lesson.

I'm sure you're "kicking yourself" for leaving that shelf in the alcove! Charity and I sure hope your move goes smoothly, and you and the family love starting this new chapter of your life in Spokane!

We miss you guys terribly! Here's hoping that at some point we can all get together.
