You would think it is easy. You would think there isn't much to it. But anyone who has tried, knows it is not. Buying a pair of men's khakis knows that they are not all created equal. This last weekend we went up to Tacoma, to collect, vent (crying is done... for now) and figure out what God has in store for us next. My in-laws are awesome though, they took us in, fed us and let us just be. They took care of Kate for us in the early mornings, everything.
Anyways, they also took us to Costco, to stock us up on anything we might need for the next month until we pack up and move on March 31. They also wanted to make sure that I had proper interview attire, which I did, save a pair of khakis. After making the long agonizing decision, I decided on a pair of Haggar 32x30 (90% of the pants in my closet are 32x32 mind you). Upon trying them on back at the house (there are no changing rooms at Costco) I discovered I must be fatter than anticipated or they have poor sizing. Upon returning I found the size I wanted of the same style did not exist. Therefore, I chose a different style of 34x31 in a nice pleated Kirkland khaki. These, we discovered, were much too long, but not until we were once again back at the house. We therefore made one last trek back to Costco to discover, through knowing how the other sizes fit, that I wear a 34x29 Kirkland pleated khaki. Two sizes larger in the waist and three inches shorter in the legs than my typical pants.
Today's lesson: khakis difficult to purchase at Costco and none are the same no matter what size they claim to be.
I also learned pictures speak volumes.
God has told me that we aren't going to have to worry, He's taking care of us.
So, you know, I've got that going for me. (name that movie!)

Matt,
Great anecdotes regarding purchasing khaki's at Costco. I'll make a personal note of that next time I'm in the market for some new pants. Glad to hear also that you got some much needed time to relax up in Tacoma.
You can always take time come up our way too! hint hint...nudge nudge! We're praying your move goes well, and you find a great new home in Spokane. We love you guys!
