Old Friends

How often do you get to say you need to make a call to Scotland? I haven't yet, mostly because there was no pressing need. I did, however, make a call to Scotland. Cumnock, Scotland to be exact. I called the Rev. Dr. J. Martin Mikelson and had a 45 minute time of conversation, encouragement and even threw in a prayer. It was great to just talk to a man God has used often to encourage and push me.
In our conversation, I was reminded how great of a fit God has made Becky and I. In my staff profile I mentioned how amazing she is and how she is my opposite, the one who thinks for me. It is just amazing to see how God works everything out. Outside of allowing me to marry up (my dad still asks Becky why she would want to be married to me), God has also brought Becky and I to a place where we can serve Him freely, with different (not less) worries than before. Now, we are plagued with thoughts of income, calling and what He has in store for us. Needless to say, God is teaching us more (here I thought we had learned enough for the year and God would give us the summer off).
Oh well, it was great to talk to my friend. Now I just hold my wife, tell her we will be okay and assure her God has it planned out. (Oh yeah, anyone want to give us a house?)
I love God, He's so great in teaching us!
